The Dell PowerEdge R720 can readily handle very demanding workloads such as e-commerce, data warehouses, virtual desktop infrastructure (VDI), databases and high performance computing (HPC) as a data node. The server comes fitted with a standard integrated network controller, but other NICs are available from Broadcom or Intel up to 2GbE.
